We Fix Things So You Can Too
Profvolt is a practical guide to vintage equipment maintenance and restoration. We cover sewing machines, mechanical watches, film cameras, classic lawn equipment, and typewriters — the kind of things built to last a lifetime, if you know how to care for them.
Our guides are written for people who would rather learn to fix something than pay someone else to do it — or worse, throw it away. Every article is hands-on, model-specific, and written by people who have actually done the work.
What We Cover
- Vintage Sewing Machines — Singer 66, 99K, 201, 15-91 and more
- Mechanical Watches — Seiko, Omega, ETA movements, pocket watches
- Film Cameras — Canon AE-1, Pentax K1000, Olympus OM series
- Lawn Equipment — carburetors, blades, vintage mowers
- Typewriters — Olivetti, Hermes, Royal, Underwood
Our Philosophy
Vintage equipment was built better than most modern alternatives. A 1950s Singer sewing machine, properly maintained, will outlast any machine made today. A mechanically serviced vintage watch will keep time for another century. These things deserve to be repaired, not replaced.
We believe in the right to repair. We believe in learning how things work. And we believe that with the right guide, most repairs are within reach of any patient, careful person.
